Brad’s responsibilities include capital sourcing and deal origination and transaction oversight. His previous experience was as President of Succession Capital Corporation where he grew the business from zero to $40 million in sales. He also worked in venture capital at Rothschild Canada Limited where he completed a number of transactions.  Previous to that he worked as a Chartered Accountant in Toronto at Price Waterhouse and Grant Thornton, in addition to Coopers & Lybrand in Paris, France. Brad received his International MBA at Schulich School of Business in 1993 and received his Chartered Accounting degree in 1995 – graduating in the top 10% of his program. Brad is an avid nature enthusiast and has been sitting on the Board of the Toronto Wildlife Center since 2005. His personal interests include fitness, nature and travelling with family and friends.

Joanna oversees finance and administration for Lynx, including cash flow management, financial accounting and reporting functions for Lynx and its subsidiary companies, and corporate governance. She also plays a key role in Lynx’s portfolio bank financing and integration processes, as well as acts as the strategic advisor for select subsidiaries. Joanna has been with Lynx since its founding in 2007 and brings over 15 years of financial, strategic, and operational expertise to the firm. She began her career with Arthur Andersen Business Consulting, worked for 724 Solutions Inc., and held several executive development positions with Johnson & Johnson Medical Products.Joanna has also held the role of President at one of Lynx’s portfolio companies. Joanna holds an HBA and an MBA, both from the Richard Ivey School of Business at the University of Western Ontario. She also holds her CPA/CMA designation. Her interests include yoga, golf, skiing, and spending time with her family.

Marvin’s responsibilities include cash flow management and financial accounting, as well as overseeing the reporting and management of subsidiary companies. Marvin started his career with Ernst & Whinney, Chartered Accountants, working there for three years. He left accounting to join Premier Salons and Magicuts, a Canadian franchise hair salon operation. Marvin has been involved in the hair care industry for over 25 years and is currently President of Topcuts and Melonhead, running the day to day operations and franchising.   In his free time Marvin enjoys going to the cottage, spending time with his family, and running on the treadmill just enough to keep up with his pet gecko.

Steve joined Lynx in 2014 as the company’s first Chief Operation Officer. He oversees the operations of Lynx’s portfolio companies and is responsible for the creation and strengthening of synergies between them. He is also involved in budget creation and the integration of new companies into Lynx’s portfolio.  Steve has over 25 years experience in operations and finance in the health care and information technology sectors.  As the Administrator and Budget Director of a major NYC Health Network, Steve played an integral role in the growth of the network from $250M to $1B in gross revenue through the acquisition of multiple hospitals, clinics and nursing homes. Later in his career, Steve provided strategic counsel to a diverse group of CEOs and CFOs as a management consultant and, most recently, spent 5 years operating retirement homes in Ontario. He received his Masters of Health Administration from the University of Toronto in 1997 and a post graduate fellowship from Medisys Health Network, New York City in 1998.  His personal interests include golf, guitar, yoga and travelling the world with friends and family.

Mark’s role at Lynx includes sourcing and executing new acquisitions, assisting in the operation of existing portfolio companies, raising new capital and crafting and implementing the fund’s strategic direction. Prior to working at Lynx, Mark was the CEO of an out-of-home advertising company, OutdoorPartner Media (“OPX”). From a business plan in 2001, OPX grew to a leading publicly traded, alternative out-of-home advertising company with a market capitalization of $60 million, more than 80 employees, offices in Toronto, New York, Los Angeles and Atlanta, and displays in every major city in the United States. Prior to founding OPX, Mark worked as an investment banking professional at Salomon Smith Barney in New York.  Before Salomon, he was a corporate lawyer at Heenan Blaikie in Toronto. Mark received an LL.B/MBA from the University of Toronto, where he won the Hewlett Packard Award for top performance in Finance. Djenane has been with Lynx since 2009. She is responsible for sourcing and executing new acquisitions, monitoring and overseeing management of operations at the portfolio companies, and assisting in strategic direction of the portfolio. Djenane has over 15 years experience in venture capital and financial markets. Djenane started her investing career in 1997 at Working Ventures, Canada’s largest labour sponsored fund. At Working Ventures Djenane worked on a number of private and public transactions and sat on the board of several companies. Djenane moved from Analyst to Investment Manager to Portfolio Manager where she managed Working Ventures $250 million public portfolio. In 2001 Djenane joined EdgeStone Capital Partners as Vice President. She was one of two principals responsible for investments in the $105 million venture fund. Prior to joining Lynx, Djenane was a Managing Director of JovFunds Inc., the asset management arm of Jovian Capital Corp. Djenane has her MBA from the Richard Ivey School of Business and a BA from McGill University. In her spare time, Djenane enjoys playing tennis, doing yoga, and spending time with her family.

Steve’s role at Lynx includes managing the external financial reporting, tax compliance, internal audit, and due diligence validation for the Lynx group of companies. Steve has over 15 years of public accounting experience assisting mid-size private companies with all its business advisory, accounting, and tax needs. Before joining Lynx, Steve was Senior Manager at Fruitman Kates for ten years, focusing on owner manager businesses including leading all the assurance and tax manners for many of the Lynx companies.  Steve now uses his extensive experience in variety of industries and applies it operating from the “inside” for the Lynx group. Steve is active in his local community and has previously served as Treasurer and on the Board of a local synagogue.  In his spare time, Steve enjoys playing softball, cycling, and spending time with his family.

Glenn’s responsibilities include capital funding, deal origination, strategic direction and operational review. His previous experience includes 10 years at BMO Nesbitt Burns Ltd. where he was Vice President and Director responsible for mergers and acquisitions, as well as equity derivative sales and trading. Glenn was also a Principle of JMM Trading LP and was responsible for buying equity and debt stakes in a wide variety of North America businesses. Glenn received Bachelor of Administrative and Commercial Studies degree from the University of Western Ontario in 1984 and received his Chartered Financial Analyst charter in 1991. Mathew leads Lynx’s Calgary office, and is responsible for sourcing and executing acquisitions in Western Canada and the Northwest United States. He also oversees operations of select portfolio companies in that region. Prior to Lynx, Mathew worked for Ernst & Young where he progressed rapidly within the firm, receiving the fastest promotion to management in over twenty years. In that role he led large, cross-sectional teams across a variety of projects primarily within the energy sector. His projects included financial modeling, financial analysis, due diligence, and pro-forma accounting advisory for a number of significant financial transactions. In addition to EY, Mathew co-founded Finance for Good, a specialized consulting firm focused on evaluating, measuring, and forecasting the economic impact of social programs. Finance for Good is recognized nationally as a thought leader in the use of social impact bonds, an innovative tool to fund and scale social programs through private investment. Mathew received a Bachelor of Commerce from Carleton University, where he graduated in the 100th percentile and received the University Senate Medal. He is also a designated Chartered Financial Analyst and Chartered Accountant, and was named a CA Gold Medalist and ICAA Early Achiever. In his spare time, Mathew is an avid skier, recreational soccer player, and frequent world-traveller.

Jennifer oversees cash flow management for Lynx and its subsidiary companies. She also assists with sourcing bank financing for new acquisitions and manages day-to-day banking needs. Jennifer is a graduate of McMaster University with an Honours Bachelor of Commerce, and is a member of Women in Capital Markets, a leading professional association for Canadian women in finance with a special emphasis on the role and development of women. She is also on the Board of Directors for Women’s Brain Health Indicative an institution that creates education programs and funds research to combat brain aging diseases that affect women. In her free time, Jennifer enjoys spending weekends at the cottage and taking her black lab to the beach.

Michele is responsible for all aspects of Human Resources at Lynx’s head office, and acts as a resource to the management and staff at the subsidiary companies. Michele develops policies, procedures, best practices, job descriptions and employment contracts. As well, she oversees recruitment and selection, benefits management, staff restructuring, staff relations, and incident investigations. Michele has over 20 years of management experience, throughout which she has gained a valuable amount of practical HR experience. Prior to joining the Lynx team, Michele held positions of increasing responsibility at Grand River Toys and Ashton Green. Michele is currently enrolled at Ryerson University where she is working towards obtaining her degree in Human Resource Management. Michele enjoys personal fitness, entertaining (including hosting cooking challenges) and participating in extreme activities that take her out of her comfort zone.

Cindy graduated from Osgoode Hall Law School in 1990. After her Call to the Bar, she practiced law at Torkin, Manes, Cohen and Arbus.   She was then invited by the Dean of Osgoode Hall Law School to take on the Role of Director of Alumni Affairs for the law school, acting as a liaison between the Law School and Osgoode’s Alumni.  After working at Osgoode, Cindy held a number of different positions at the Law Society of Upper Canada, in both the Education Department and as Counsel in the Professional Development and Competence Department.  She was also an adjunct Professor at Seneca College of Applied Arts and Technology teaching courses in the Legal and Public Administration Program. Before joining the Lynx team, Cindy was a freelance writer and executive recruiter and an independent legal consultant. In her spare time, Cindy enjoys traveling with her family, scuba diving and photography.

Joseph joined Lynx in November 2012 as a Junior Analyst on the Accounting and Finance team where he was responsible for cash flow management, banking and investor relations as well as assisting in financial reporting obtaining investor financing. After a period in that role he progressed to the Mergers and Acquisitions team as an Analyst and was subsequently promoted to the Associate level. While on the M&A team Joseph completed 7 acquisitions in various industries. Most recently Joseph transitioned to Lynx’s Operations group as Manager, Strategy and Portfolio Operations where he oversees and manages a portfolio of companies across Canada.  His responsibilities include assisting the portfolio companies with the creation of their strategic plans and budgets, supporting the subsidiaries with any growth initiatives, providing ongoing operational and strategic guidance as well as working on various projects with the COO. Joseph received a Bachelor of Commerce (Honours) with a major in Finance from the Telfer School of Management at the University of Ottawa. In his free time, Joseph enjoys traveling, boating and spending time with family and friends.

Sophie joined the Lynx team in 2016, responsible for sourcing potential acquisitions.  Prior to joining Lynx, Sophie was part of the very limited team from France in charge of opening a new factory in Queretaro, Mexico. During her three years in Mexico, she acquired strong operational experience working for Safran and Airbus Group, two major European players of the aerospace industry. Sophie then ran a family machinery business in San Diego, California where she was responsible for servicing clients all around globe. The company was successfully sold in 2013 to a Private Equity firm and she oversaw this transition in ownership. Sophie has Engineering degree obtained in France in 2008, a year of which was spent at the Politecnico De Milano in Italy. Subsequently, she obtained a specialized master in International Business from Ecole Centrale Paris and EM Lyon. In her spare time, Sophie enjoy outdoors adventure and backpacking around the world.

Muriel joined Lynx in September 2015. She is responsible for the full-cycle accounting, which includes processing daily EFT, posting journal entries, updating financial statements, preparing monthly financial reports, calculating HST and payroll taxes, and maintaining accounts payable and receivable. Muriel received a Master of Accounting degree from the Goodman School of Business at Brock University in 2014. In the meanwhile, she worked for the Ontario based accounting firm Turner Moore Group as a co-op student. Muriel is a 4th level CPA, CGA student and she is working towards completion of the CPA designation. In her spare time, Muriel enjoys hiking, dancing, photography and spending time with her friends.

Heather’s role provides support to the Director of Human Resources for Lynx corporate and for our portfolio of companies. Heather has over 25 years’ experience in accounting, operations and human resources. She started her career at Premier Salons and Magicuts a Canadian Franchise Hair Salon chain. She initially was a bookkeeper but quickly moved up the ranks and joined Marvin Pludwinski in the operations department running a group of over 300 salons. In 2004 Heather followed Marvin to support him as President of Topcuts and Melonhead and was responsible for the accounting, human resources and operational support for the group. She joined Lynx corporate in 2014. Heather completed a Business Administration Certificate and Level 2 Certified General Accountant from Ryerson University, Toronto, Ontario and is currently enrolled in Compensation Management at the International Federation of Employee Benefit Plans. Heather and her husband are avid cyclists. She holds a Level 2 National Coaching Certification in Cycling and rides with two local cycling clubs. Most of her time out of the office is spent riding the road and enjoying time with friends and family. She is also a longtime supporter and volunteer for Casey House in Toronto, a hospice for individuals living with HIV/AIDS.

Roshan has been with Lynx Equity since 2014. She started at the company as an HR intern and went on to fill the Executive Assistant position. As the EA she was responsible for administrative duties in the office, tracking and managing debt and shareholder investments, and providing direct support to the executives of the Lynx team. After two years in that role, she was promoted to the role of Operations Coordinator. Roshan’s responsibilities include providing support to the Operations department in developing strategic plans, preparing budgets, completing ongoing projects and addressing ad hoc operational issues for Lynx’s portfolio of companies. Roshan graduated from Queen’s University with a Bachelor of Arts in Global Development Studies. In her spare time Roshan enjoys travelling, personal fitness and spending time with her friends and family.

Judith has been an investor, advisor and fundraiser with Lynx Equity Limited since its founding in 2007, and previously with Lynx’s predecessor company, Succession Capital Corporation since its founding in 2000. As a corporate-commercial lawyer, entrepreneur, and value investor in private and public companies, Judith brings a broad base of experience and a multi-faceted perspective to her advisory role at Lynx. She is a long-time and natural champion of Lynx (and previously of Succession), contributing to its corporate and investor development and celebrating its culture of integrity and its buy-and-hold investment strategy. Judith practiced corporate-commercial law at the Toronto law firm of Lafleur Brown, as corporate counsel at the skincare and cosmetics company The Body Shop (Canada), and as a sole practitioner. She also started and operated several small businesses in Toronto,  in residential design and renovation and in the pet industry. Judith holds a BSc from Boston University and a JD from Osgoode Hall Law School where she was awarded the Harold J. Rubenstein Prize in Civil Liberties. Judith is the Chair of the Weizmann League, a group of entrepreneurs and professionals who support the world-renowned Weizmann Institute of Science in its mission to advance “science for the benefit of humanity”. Her interests include travel, nature, fitness and philanthropic causes focused on animal welfare and international human rights.
