REPORTS TO:  Vice President of Mergers & Acquisitions, Scandinavia

LOCATION: Toronto, Ontario

START DATE: Immediately

HOURS: Monday-Friday, regular business hours

ABOUT THE POSITION As an Associate supporting the M&A Europe team, you will research industries, source deals, and create a database of potential acquisitions. Once an acquisition candidate has been identified, you will work with team members to analyze the opportunity, which will include preparing financial models, transaction summaries, obtaining and reviewing due diligence materials, and summarizing your findings for the rest of the team. You will review and analyze reports from portfolio companies.

  • Prepare financial models
  • Prepare due diligence checklists and manage due diligence of transactions
  • Organization and maintenance of the due diligence binders
  • Source and analyze potential target companies
  • Financial statement analysis
  • Conduct industry and competitive analysis
  • Assist with preparation of Investment Memorandums
  • Industry research
  • Portfolio Company support (budgeting, board meeting presentations, research, analysis, etc.
  • Competitive analysis
  • Administrative duties
  • Prepare banking binders as needed to source financing
  • Assist in financing-related requests
  • Assist the M & A team with ad hoc projects
  • Other duties as assigned


  • Must have one, or more, of the following: CPA, MBA, HBA, CFA
  • 1-3 years experience in a similar role
  • Ability to build financial models and read and analyze financial statements
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills and, written and verbal skills to communicate with all levels of the organization
  • Advanced Excel skills

  • Must have a valid driver’s license and be able to drive (a personal car is not a requirement)

  • Danish and/or Dutch speaking considered a significant plus

  • Annual Salary $100,000 – $115,000 plus discretionary bonus eligibility
