ABOUT THE POSITION

The IT Security Analyst is part of a team mandated with the security, maintenance and support of the data and technology of Lynx Equity Limited and its subsidiaries in locations throughout the world.  The IT Security Analyst is responsible helps safeguard the organization’s systems, data, and users by monitoring security tools, analyzing alerts, and supporting incident response activities. This role is ideal for someone with foundational cybersecurity knowledge who is ready to grow their skills in real-world environments. The analyst will work closely with senior team members and IT staff to strengthen security operations and ensure the organization maintains a strong security posture.

This role is a hybrid role, with the successful candidate expected to be in the Lynx office 1-2 days/week, working remotely at other times and travelling to various Lynx offices as required.  A valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle are required.  Ideally, the successful candidate will be located in the Greater Toronto Area, however other locations may be considered.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Monitor security tools, dashboards and logs for potential threats or unusual activity.
  • Perform initial triage and analysis of security alerts and escalate issues as needed.
  • Assist in investigating security incidents, gathering evidence, and preparing documentation.
  • Conduct routine vulnerability scans and help track remediation efforts with other teams.
  • Support user access reviews, endpoint protection tools, and basic network security controls.
  • Help maintain and update security policies, procedures, and knowledge base articles.
  • Contribute to security awareness initiatives, training materials, and best-practice guidelines.
  • Participate in audits or compliance activities under guidance from senior analysts.
  • Stay informed about emerging threats, tools, and cybersecurity trends.

QUALIFICATIONS

Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent hands-on experience, labs, or certifications).

  • Minimum of 3 years working experience in an IT support, networking or security role.
  • Basic understanding of networking, operating systems (Windows/Linux), and security fundamentals.
  • Exposure to SIEM tools, log analysis, or security monitoring (via coursework, labs, or previous roles).
  • A valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle are required.  
  • Familiarity with common security tools: antivirus/EDR, firewalls, vulnerability scanners, IAM concepts.
  • Knowledge of security frameworks such as NIST CSF, CIS Controls, or ISO 27001 is helpful but not required.
  • Strong analytical thinking, willingness to learn, and ability to follow documented processes.
  • Preferred certifications (not required): CompTIA Security+, CySA+, Network+, SSCP.

COMPENSATION & PERKS

  • Annual Salary $65,000- $80,000 CAD depending on qualifications and experience
